The Woman Behind The Name A native of Texas, Holly Hunt began her career after college in an executive training program at Foley’s, a Federated Department store in Houston and followed the path to become a buyer. Moving to New York, Holly worked as a designer and assistant to the President of a specialty jewelry firm. Following marriage and three sons, in 1983 she opened her first eponymous showroom in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, filled with luxury furniture collections for interior designers. HOLLY HUNT Inc. became the premiere design entity for high end interior furnishings in the US. As an arbiter of refined taste, her eye for what is now and what is next has led to her success. Holly has long been credited with raising the bar in interior design showrooms. HOLLY HUNT was voted the Top Showroom in the Best of the Best Awards by Interior Designers across the US all three years the award was given. Her work has received many industry awards such as the Timeless Design Award from The Royal Oak Foundation, the Innovation Award from New York C&G, the IIDA Titan Award, and in 2014 was awarded the prestigious IIDA Leadership Award of Excellence.
