Blackberry Farm may not be in DC, but interior designer Barry Dixon brought a little DC design with him on his recent update to this historic luxury resort. This 4,200-acre estate in the Great Smoky Mountains recently received an update from barry. With the help of Madeleine Mitchel in the DC Doris Leslie Blau showroom, Barry transformed a room with a custom 40 foot yak wool and silk rug. Described as "thick, plush luxury underfoot," this custom rug is the epitome of luxury carpeting.
The closeup below is a Rose Tarlow Melrose chair upholstered in a random stripe velvet from S. Harris. You can find this plush silk velvet at the DC Fabricut showroom and the chair from Holland & Sherry. The simple, yet elegant, drapery and sheers are from Lewis & Wood.
