Be inspired by interior designers who use Holland & Sherry in their spaces. Beautiful embroidery, rug and pillows from the collections of Holland & Sherry were used in this living room by interior designer Christina Murphy.
Washington DC interior designers love fabrics from Cowtan & Tout. You don't have to take our word for it, just do a search on any social network and you will see room after room held together by an element of Cowtan & Tout. This month we decided to feature a few of those DC designers and their work showing off a little Cowtan & Tout as well!

Our NEW Exclusive Color Library Multi-Purpose collection has a new look and is an exciting foray into exuberant pattern, energizing color, and a fresh new design point of view for 2016.
The fabrics feature globally inspired motifs with archival and artisanal origins. They include large-scale medallions, graphic paisleys and playful ikats, and come in fantastic constructions such as embroideries, prints and multi-purpose wovens.
Patterns and colors in this collection are meant to be layered. They also dovetail nicely with Robert Allen Color Library upholstery collections, as well as the Drenched and Landscape Color lines.
CHALET, Barbara Barry’s new collection of fabric, trimmings, drapery hardware and wallpaper for Kravet, is based on her love of the Austrian Alps, where rustic meets refinement. Rendered in the soft colors of Edelweiss, alpine streams and winter grays, CHALET offers chic simplicity to layered formality. The collection ranges from perfect plains and pretty patterns, to exquisite embroidered and elegant trims. Dress up your cabin-inspired interior in wool and cashmere, felt and fur, or keep it spare and modern with touches of trim and antler drapery hardware accents.
"Every year I head to Austria to take in the beauty of the mountains. The green Alps and blue skies are a spectacular backdrop for a simple but refined lifestyle. An all day hike is rewarded by the return to soft pine floors, fine linens and a glass of crisp Austrian Riesling. This magical lifestyle and beautiful surroundings is what inspired this new collection called Chalet. " - Barbara Barry
The exquisite trims recall the provincial motifs of wooden balconies and the details of traditional clothing.
Color is rooted in the daily life of interior designers and is used to effect profound statements in expression of their art. Blue is historically the most prized color. Blue pigments were so rare that they were valued more than any other.
Blue is often associated with depth and stability and is considered beneficial to the mind and body. It slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect and promotes creative problem solving.

This spring Century explores the ideas of confidence, continuity, and collected wisdom. From an urban bohemian lifestyle infused with earthy and saturated colors to a story of the modern curated home, the presentations depict less of the “what we put in our homes” and more of the “how we live and put it together.” The rooms feel effortless but are layered with subtle nuance and details and showcase the strength of Century’s finish and fabric offering. Mixing Thomas O’Brien pieces with new Bob Timber-lake pieces and other new items from the Maison ‘47 Collection, Century artfully shows us how to create collected rooms that feel lived in rather than decorated.
The Curated Home is all about this concept of home as a gallery, an ever changing space where furniture moves around as needed instead of being set in one place to live in perpetuity. Rooms should evolve as we collect and curate our lives through time. The colors here are inspired by mineral hues. A punch of citrine awakens the grays and spa blues in one room, while in another gallery Rose Quartz acts as the neutral mixing with taupe and beige. #CenturyCurated #Citrine #Rosequartz #Madebyhand
Organic modern is the juxtaposition of rus-tic more casual settings with modern things. A contemporary sofa against a planked wall. We were inspired by William Wurster, an early American architect, and his work. Not meant to conjure a physical place, Century’s Resort Lifestyle is more about a state of mind. Nostalgic prints made youthful and modern with coloration and scale mix with a range of furniture styles showcased in Century’s white lacquer and a new finish, Eden, to create playful rooms. This lifestyle is all about not taking things too seriously, kicking up your feet and living the good life, wher-ever that might be. #CenturyResort #Eden #RobertAllen #MadcapCottage #Madebyhand
