The Art of Hand Block Printing
Crafted By Hand
Scalamandre's new Kelmescott Hand Block Print was discovered in an English archive and is printed using the original wood blocks, which were first cut by hand and printed in July 1924. Composed of 40 separate wood blocks, it requires 80 block impressions just to complete one full yard of printing. The charming scenic design of English country life is freshly interpreted in new colorations for today’s interiors.

Scalamandre Introduces SKY, May Color of the Month
Color is rooted in the daily life of interior designers and is used to effect profound statements in expression of their art. Blue is historically the most prized color. Blue pigments were so rare that they were valued more than any other.
Blue is often associated with depth and stability and is considered beneficial to the mind and body. It slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect and promotes creative problem solving.
Scalamandre has created a collection of products inspired by the color SKY you can view on Pinterest or on their website.
