CHALET, Barbara Barry’s new collection of fabric, trimmings, drapery hardware and wallpaper for Kravet, is based on her love of the Austrian Alps, where rustic meets refinement. Rendered in the soft colors of Edelweiss, alpine streams and winter grays, CHALET offers chic simplicity to layered formality. The collection ranges from perfect plains and pretty patterns, to exquisite embroidered and elegant trims. Dress up your cabin-inspired interior in wool and cashmere, felt and fur, or keep it spare and modern with touches of trim and antler drapery hardware accents.
"Every year I head to Austria to take in the beauty of the mountains. The green Alps and blue skies are a spectacular backdrop for a simple but refined lifestyle. An all day hike is rewarded by the return to soft pine floors, fine linens and a glass of crisp Austrian Riesling. This magical lifestyle and beautiful surroundings is what inspired this new collection called Chalet. " - Barbara Barry

The collection has a strong foundation in blues and greens and is harmonized with neutrals to incorporate the designer's adoration of the beach. Marks pairs prints such as Netscape Lagoon and Spiro Mineral with geometric and abstract patterns, for a stylish blend intended for mixing and matching. The designs and materials used for the fabrics include fresh, vibrant and sophisticated linens and versatile wovens. Colors range from beachy blues and forest greens, to accents of sunset corals and warm yellows, as well as a subtle mix of soft neutrals in sand and sun-bleached white.
This is Marks' first collection with Kravet and both parties are thrilled about the collaboration. "I had the idea to make a bold impact on a space with this line. Whether it is on a sofa or curtains, my fabrics make for a playful and fresh interior," said Marks. "Regardless of whether you live in a city townhouse or a beach house in Malibu, my fabrics can work in any situation."
Fans of Marks, who have followed his career, will be pleased with the combination of prints and patterns mixed with the refreshing color palette, which offers great style at an accessible price point. The collection is currently available in Kravet showrooms, online and through Kravet's network of licensed representatives.
