Showroom Sales Assistant - Schumacher

Job Description

F. Schumacher & Co., America’s leading name for manufacturing and distributing fabric, wall covering, floorcovering and furnishings is seeking an enthusiastic Showroom Sales Assistant for the Schumacher brand.  This person will be responsible for supporting the sales team in selling high-end fabric, wall covering & furniture lines by managing the sample library, merchandising of new product & fulfilling sample requests from clients as well and the sales team.  As a part of the inside sales team, this person will help to reinforce brand positioning within the marketplace and provide key service for accounts within the Washington, D.C. territory.

You Will

The Showroom Sales Assistant plays a critical role in our goal of beautiful selling within a community. 

Beautiful

  • Maintain corporate visual standards for the showroom merchandising including hanging/display of new fabric and wallpaper product, including merchandising the trays, etc. 
  • Perform showroom sample room maintenance responsibilities including fulfilling memo order requests for clients, weekly sample replenishment and back-room organization.
  • Collect insight and feedback from clients to determine how we can improve their experience.
  • Represent Schumacher in a professional manner and in appearance.
  • Provide support for general showroom sample requests and products.

Selling

  • Maintain proper memo inventory levels to maximize adequate sample levels.
  • Support sales team in memo placement to clients including timely shipping of packages and project shops.
  • Contribute to processes and initiatives both locally and corporate level.
  • Identify and communicate to manager improvement processes to increase efficiencies.
  • Interact w/clients, collect insights and feedback on how we can better assist them and their design needs.
  • Go the extra mile to help clients fulfill memo requests if out of stock by contacting other showrooms.

Community

  • Consistently seek to expand your working knowledge of interior design and current Schumacher collections.
  • Support the sales team in creating curated memo and care packages for clients and promoting the local design community.
  • Utilize social media and digital tools to promote local designers.
  • Build collaborative internal relationships with the Washington, DC sales team and corporate teams.

Requirements You Have/Are

  • Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A proven proactive self-starter with a positive attitude
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change
  • Proficiency in MS Windows and Office suite
  • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the luxury interior design industry
  • Instagram proficient with an eye for creative marketing
  • Previous sample room management/merchandising experience for a showroom and inventory management is a plus
